And if you want to have a good laugh at our opponents please read the highly incompetent comments under the "masterpiece" titled "Big News from the Discovery Institute" found at The Sensuous Curmudgeon blog from April 29, 2018.

Bill Needle seems so obsessed with me that he could not resist to contribute another empty diatribe full of gutter language titled ""Living Fossils" vs ID Creationism!" at his Marmotism blog on May 27, 2008.

In his new book "Censoring the Darwin Skeptics" (published May 17, 2018 as volume III of the Slaughter of the Dissidents series) Jerry Bergman also discusses my story at length in chapter 21 "Darwinists Expelled Professor Bechly for Coming Out in Favor of Intelligent Design" (pages 499-504).

Riffraff Darwinist Bill Needle, who's gutter language and total cluelessness again reveal his lowly origin, provided another embarrassing comment "Bechly's ID Creationist Bafflement!" at his Marmotism blog on June 21, 2018.

At the main conference of the Studiengemeinschaft Wort und Wissen in Rehe / Germany (May 31 - June 3, 2018) I  gave a plenary talk "Explosionen im Fossilbericht und das „Wartezeit“-Problem“ (June 1, 20:00, 60 min. + Q&A, ca. 150 participants) and two seminars "Diskontinuitäten im Fossilbericht: Widersprüche zum Darwinschen Gradualismus"  (June 1, 14:30-16:00 with 24 participants, and June 2, 16:00-17:30 with 64 participants).

Bill Needle's obsession with me reached new heights with his postings "Bechly and Me" (Jul. 11) and "Under Bechly's Skin!" (Jul. 18) at his Marmotism blog. His postings speak for themselves, and I suppose he is just an angry young fellow, still dwelling in his parent's basement without girl friend, who is alienated by the fact that even other Darwinists ignore his embarrassing blog, as shown by the absence of any likes or comments for most of his postings. No wonder that this attention-seeking confused guy is obsessed with his only reader, but I have to admit to enjoy some Schadenfreude when people like him bring evolutionists into disrepute.

Stephen C. Meyer talks about my story (begins at time code 9:17) in his interview "Last Days of Darwinism" for Hank Unplugged podcast (July 18, 2018) by Hank Hanegraaff.

[In July / August 2018 I took a brief break from my ID work because of our relocation from Germany to our new home in Austria.]

Posting "Seeing Design" about me by Nicky Fisher at his blog Fuel for Faith (Aug. 23, 2018).

German atheist website Answers Without Questions comments on my quite popular YouTube interview in their article "Günter Bechly und seine Zweifel an Darwin" with the usual confusion of ID with creationism, and with hilarious misrepresentations of my arguments, such as this gem: No joke - this is really his argument "Here we lack information - thus it must have been magic!". Well, no, this is of course emphatically NOT my argument, but they obviously don't care much about facts and prefer to criticize silly caricatures.

Article "Ignoring Other Research, New Study Explains (Away) the Origin of New Body Planson Discovery Institute's site Evolution News from September 12, 2018.

My special "fan" Bill Needle (an incarnation of the Dunning-Kruger effect) again tries to trigger the only reader of his lonely and angry Marmotism blog with this wonderful posting "Bechly Brings the Bullshit!" (Oct. 14). Please enjoy and have mercy, this poor boy desperately needs some readers and maybe a first commenter after 10 postings without any feedback! Webinar "Conflicting evidence for Common Ancestry from the Fossil Record" at Apologetics Academy (Nov. 3, 2018).

Joshua Swamidass starts a thread "Günter Bechly on Origins" about me at his Peaceful Science site (Nov. 19-24, 2018). They speculate about my beliefs and my story, but I wonder why they did not bother to simply ask me!?

Angry darwinist blogger Bill Needle commented about my ELF video on the fossil record "Bullshitting Bechly Bullshitting Doomsday Cult Bullshit" at his miserable Marmotism blog (Nov. 18, 2018). Obviously this God-hating bigot never heard about crucial works like the Nature paper of Foote & Sepkoski (1999), who concluded "completeness is rather high for many animal groups". The only argument in Needle's nonsensical response "Gunter Bechly Disappoints Jesus!" (Nov. 21) can be easily refuted by quoting one of the world's leading experts on the fossil record, Prof. Michael Benton (1998): "The phylogenetic congruence assessments have indicated that there is no evidence that vertebrates have a fossil record that is either any better, or indeed any worse, than that of any other major group of animals. In addition, there is no evidence that the record of continental (that is, terrestrial and freshwater) tetrapods is worse than that of marine echinoderms or fishes. These kinds of assessments have proved highly fruitful, and they provide a sound quantified answer to the old cry of 'the fossil record is pretty incomplete and uninformative'."

Needle also commented about my ELF video on whale evolution and not only demonstrated in his posting "How and Why Did the "Designer" Design This Complete Transitional Series?" (Nov. 24) that he is absolutely clueless about the waiting time problem, but instead attacked a ridiculous straw man claim that nobody made. Unfortunately, this is a quite typical response by hardcore Darwinist activists to the ever growing conflicting evidence: ignoring, denying, or distorting. Bill Needle indeed does such an excellent job in making evolutionists look bad and stupid that one could almost suspect that he secretly works for Answers in Genesis.

Finally, this poor little simpleton in his narrow-mindedness seems to be unable to grasp the plain truth, that only because I was invited to speak at a FOCL conference does not imply that I endorse everything they say, which should be obvious to anyone with average intelligence by the fact that I am not an evangelical (Protestant) Christian.

He responded to these paragraphs with "More Belligerent Bullshitting Bechly Hilarity!" (Nov. 28) in which, apart from some smoke and mirrors, he repeats the same silly question of his previous posting, which he apparently considers as brilliant, and thus proves that he is not smart enough to understand that this is the very straw man I referred to above (hint: ID is a method to identify phenomena that are best explained with an intelligent cause, but this method in principle has to be agnostic about the identity, motivations, and mechanisms of the intelligent cause).

Nevertheless, in his dozens of posts against me, he accidentally stumbled upon a single correct  point: some of my responses to his diatribes indeed may not be very kind, and they are not meant to be. Indeed, my Nietzschean character is not made for meek responses to such malicious garbage ("what goes around comes around"). Since this confused and ill-bred fellow is unworthy of attention and response, I seriously considered to ignore his rants in the future (prompting "Farewell Gunter! Thanks for the Laughs!"), but then changed my mind because Bill Needle's blog simply is too hilarious and useful to expose dogmatic Darwinism.

Article "Evolutionsbiologe beginnt zu zweifeln" about me at the Swiss Christian web portals livenet.ch  and jesus.ch (Nov. 27, 2018), written by Miriam Hinrichs. Unfortunately, it fails to distinguish intelligent design from creationism. The article is based on a YouTube interview, but was written in the "I" form even though it is paraphrased and I was not involved as author or even informed about it.

Article "Rewriting Human Origins, Ongoing in East Asiaon Discovery Institute's site Evolution News from November 28, 2018.

This article was also discussed at Joshua Swamidass' Peaceful Science site. And of course Bill Needle could not resist and commented "Blundering Bechly Buffoonery!" at Marmotism (Dec. 16, 2018).

Ann Gauger talks with Marvin Olasky about my story for the The Olasky Interview at The world and Everything in It (Nov. 29, 2018).

An article co-authored with Stephen C. Meyer about the fossil record and common ancestry is currently (Nov. 2018) still in preparation for the journal Inference and will probably be published in spring 2019.
